Munich Attic Apartment

SOLID CHARM WITH A TWIST: MERGING OLD AND NEW

Old and new merge in this attic turned to a modern apartment in an historic Munich building. Its height of almost 4 metres and its L-shaped floor plan create a sense of spaciousness, while the roof line and corners make it cosy and humane – with the kitchen cleverly nestled into a tight corner.

Antique furniture pieces such as a Biedermeier arm chair, an 18th century desk and a 19th century children’s sleigh mix and match with modern classics and contemporary designer furniture and lightings. The book case is custom-built around a corner and houses the wonderful collection of the owner. The colours of the book spines are reflected in the hues of the Paul Smith rug on the floor below. A marquette of a staircase turned into a table lamp was a treasure discovered in an antique shop. ’Lucky!’, thought the little bear as well, and choose the stairs as his new favourite seat.
