STS Interiors was established in 2010 by Sabine Thiel-Siling, an experienced architectural and interior design editor. The studio represents her long-term passion for creating and designing on a practical and personal level.
FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE
As head of the architectural department of a renowned international art publishing house, Sabine worked closely for many years with designers, architects, artists and art historians. From 2001 she freelanced as a writer and translator for a number of German architecture and design magazines.
At the same time, she had the opportunity to work with an Australian architect to renovate and re-design an existing Queenslander in Brisbane, and to create from scratch a new interior.
The Queenslander house project was selected for publication in various design magazines, including Queensland Homes and Home Beautiful. The project provided the impetus for a change in career and the pursuit of formal studies in interior design. During this period, Sabine gained practical experience in two established local design practices: Riddel Architecture and Coop Creative.
Since 2010 Sabine has run her own practice and successfully works from Brisbane and Munich.
